My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rody ***Currently in St. Catharines, ON.!!!

Breed: Terrier Mix

Age: 10 months

Sex: Neutered Male

Color: Beige

Weight: 18 kg

Rescue Story:

Rody was born in a rural greenhouse to a stray mother. When locals alerted the fire department, the mother was chased away before she could be rescued. Rody and his siblings (Lia, Milk, and Choco) were left behind, and rescuers stepped in just in time. The puppies were nursed and raised by a kind foster dog mom who had recently finished caring for her own litter.

With People

Rody is affectionate, social, and loves people—he happily approaches strangers and friends alike, offering snuggles and soaking up affection. In familiar spaces, he sometimes gets excited and jumps up for attention, but on walks or in new environments, he’s much calmer and politely greets people without overwhelming them. He’s very comfortable around children (including those under 13) and can be picked up easily by placing an arm under his belly.

With Other Dogs

Rody is adventurous and curious, and he thrives on social interaction. He’s playful, energetic, and loves meeting new dog friends—especially those his size or smaller. While he’s generally friendly, his enthusiastic energy may not be a good match for overly sensitive dogs. He tends to walk away rather than escalate if another dog shows aggression.

With Cats

Rody has calmly and politely met cats with no signs of aggression. He’s respectful and non-reactive.

Energy Level & Behavior

Rody’s energy level varies depending on his surroundings. When alone, he’s calm and happy to nap or quietly play with toys. But when around other dogs, he becomes lively and full of playful energy. He absolutely loves playtime and would do well in a home with another active dog.

He doesn’t show any food guarding toward people or other dogs, although when in a group, he may eat quickly out of excitement. Alone, he eats slowly and mindfully.

He rarely barks—only occasionally at household sounds—and is crate-trained and well-behaved in the car. He is currently used to going potty outdoors.

Walks & Training

Rody loves walks, but he’s still learning how to walk calmly on a leash. Right now, he tends to pull and follow his curiosity, so he’s in the middle of leash training. He’s very responsive and eager to learn, so with consistency, he’ll be a great walking buddy.

Rody is a joyful, bright, and affectionate pup who’s ready to find a family that will guide him as he grows into a confident, loving companion.

Are you ready to welcome Rody into your heart and home?

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
