Colt is a shy boy. He was found starving and scared, hiding behind a garbage can. He was shy and broken, and it took some time for him to build confidence. Colt has come a long way since that time. He loves playing tug of war, chasing balls, and fetching toys. He usually brings them back and will set them at your feet. He doesn't like chaos and will hide, so a calm home will be best for him. He's very gentle, gets his feelings hurt easily, and does not do well with aggressive dogs. He will completely shut down and will not defend himself. However, when it is play time, he will steal the toys from the other dogs, right out of their mouths, using his size advantage, so he is not afraid of other dogs, just the aggressive ones. He is crate trained, but no crating is necessary because he is a good boy! He loves to be outside and has to be coerced to come in. He's learning to walk on a leash and does best with a harness. He knows how to sit for toys and treats, so training is coming along. He is just a happy, loving guy! Since Colt is a large dog, we recommend a home with a fenced-in backyard and/or daily exercise and socialization plans.
