Shadow ACCT-A-222509 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical concerns. Shadow must have confirmed placement with an RESCUE PARTNER, EXPERIENCED ADOPTER or EXPERIENCED FOSTER by Thursday, June 26th at 10 A.M. Should Shadow's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change.
Shadow is a gentle senior cat who was surrendered with his bonded friend Ti (ACCT A-222510) when their owner could no longer care for them. Unfortunately, our medical team was concerned that Ti was in more urgent need of an exit at the time, but Shadow is now also considered urgent. Like Ti, Shadow also has a high grade heart murmur, but Shadow has hyperthyroid.
Shadow now also needs to leave the shelter with a committed rescue, experienced foster or adopter who can address his medical concerns and provide him with a soft place to recover.
Medical notes, 6/10
CARDIOVASCULAR: grade II/VI systolic heart murmur
On 6/19, Shadow's TT4: was 5.4 (H).
In kennel, Shadow is very docile, and he was tolerant for his exams up until a point, He is very aware of what a distinguished gentleman he is. He enjoys full body pets and especially loves chin scratches.
Shadow's and Ti’s owner described them as a "sweet and friendly" pair, and told us that they love catnip, and got along well with children. We would really like to see these two guys stay together, but we also understand that their medical issues are a hefty combination. No matter what happens, we want to make sure these seniors get to spend the time they have left some place comfortable.

Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately.
Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging a dog or cat.
Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent.
ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details.
All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly’s Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313
** $1,925 in pledges for the rescue that pulls **
