Watching Caylee evolve over the past 6 months has been both fantastic and heartwarming. She came from a tragic home, where she never received human love or anything close to proper care. Caylee was shy and afraid when she first arrived. But, with each passing day of experiencing consistent love, attention, and care, she has blossomed into a happy, bright and playful little girl. Caylee is still shy with new people at first, but becoming more trusting every day.
Caylee is an adorable Shih Tzu, about 3 1/2 years old and 11-12 pounds. With a little extra patience and compassion, you could welcome her into your home and give her the wonderful life she never knew. Caylee gets along with other dogs, and sometimes plays with them. She enjoys petting, belly rubs and leash walks. We urge you to watch the video, at the end of the photos, to experience Caylee’s transformation. Submit Application

The first step in adopting from Shih Tzu Rescue is to fill out an application on our website at shihtzurescue.org

2.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Once your application has been approved we will schedule an appointment for you to visit our shelter and dogs and take home with you.

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption contract that must be completed and approved. We require vet and personal references as well home checks. Our normal response time is approximately 7 to 10 working days. Our Adoption Committee works very hard to place our dogs in environments where they will be most likely to succeed. Please understand that we have more applications than we do dogs and that if you do not hear from us within that timeframe, we currently do not have a dog who we feel would match your needs.

Our fee includes neuter or spay, all shots, and snap test for heartworm/erlichia/lyme. We take care of whatever their medical needs might be before they are adopted. WE ADOPT TO ALL OF FLORIDA AS WELL AS OTHER STATES. WE DO NOT SHIP
