LAP CAT! Don’t let his soulful eyes fool you—Spike is doing just fine! This 10-year-old sweetheart recently had entropion surgery to correct his eyelids rolling inward, and he’s feeling much more comfortable now. With his mellow personality and gentle spirit, Spike is the definition of a senior gentleman who simply wants a calm, loving home to enjoy the rest of his days.
Spike loves being around people and appreciates a good petting session. He enjoys spending quiet time on your lap and soaking in the companionship. He’s not high-maintenance—just a laid-back buddy who values your presence and a warm spot on your lap to nap. Spike doesn't mind living with other cats although he prefers to be the only cat. He currently lives harmoniously with several feline friends, including FIV-negative cats, although prefers to keep to himself. He is FIV+, but that doesn't stop him one bit—FIV+ cats can live long, happy, healthy lives and coexist peacefully with FIV- cats.
True to his name, he might let out a harmless growl or hiss when meeting new cats—just his way of announcing he's still the king of the castle—but it's all bark and no bite. He’s fully litterbox trained, affectionate, and just looking for a soft landing and a warm heart. He also does best with children over 10 years old who can respect his calm nature.
If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal companion to share your home (and your lap), Spike may be your perfect match.
*This animal has tested positive for FIV and requires specific care as a result. FIV+ cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. Please visit this resource to learn more information about caring for an FIV+ positive cat.

Shadow Cats TNR (SCTNR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to assisting animals in need. Our mission is to establish and manage programs for the welfare of community cats, companion animals, and pet owners needing assistance, in collaboration with other community partners, rescue groups and shelters.
We specialize in controlling the community cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). As a result of the TNR process, we often acquire, along with feral cats, friendly and semi-friendly cats and kittens. We work to place these cats into appropriate homes through our adoption and barn cat programs. SCTNR seeks to educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering all pets as well as controlling the cat populations in our county.
