Meet Southern
From forgotten to family-bound, Southern’s journey is truly inspiring. Once scheduled for euthanasia and battling heartworms, this sweet, laid-back Southern gentleman is now healthy, happy, and ready to be home for the holidays.
Southern is an old soul with a gentle heart. He loves lounging on the porch, resting at your feet, and soaking up ear scratches. Social but not demanding, he’s the kind of companion who’s simply happy to be near his people. He gets along well with all people and pets and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially a calm, confident canine friend.
While he may take a little time to trust, once he does, his affectionate and quietly playful personality shines through. Southern walks nicely on a leash and enjoys easy strolls, though his hips show a bit of age—nothing that stops him from enjoying life at a comfortable pace.
Now finished with heartworm treatment, Southern is ready for his next chapter: soft beds, belly rubs, peaceful days, and a forever family to call his own.
