My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“I love dogs like Joey. When a pup seems to see the world as so big, it reminds me to slow down, to give extra kindness and patience to them, and by extension to myself. I think there is a lot of value in that friendship. Joey is exceptional. He works so hard, and when he is happy his playful zooms are so fun and incredible. Thank you for letting me spend time with this wonderful pup.” – Briana, AFF Intern

Joey came to us from NYC ACC, and it did not take long for everyone to realize how special he is. He is a playful soul with a huge heart and a personality all his own. Whether it is his silly grin, his happy wiggles, or the way he looks at you with total trust, Joey has a gift for making every moment a little lighter.
He enjoys going for walks, playing with his dog friends, and chewing on his favorite bones. He has lived with another dog in our care and loved having a companion to share his days with. Joey also loves to hold hands with people, offering his paw as a quiet reminder that connection is what matters most to him.
When joy hits him, it is all in. His zoomies are legendary, and his playful spirit is contagious. Joey’s mantra could easily be “march to the beat of your own drum,” because that is exactly what he does. He is truly one of a kind, a dog who makes life a little more fun and a lot more meaningful.

-Has lived with another dog and did great

More about this rescue

Animal Farm Foundation gets to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Located in Dutchess County NY, AFF has been working nationally to secure equal treatment and opportunity for “pit bull” dogs since 1985.

OUR ORGANIZATION
Animal Farm Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, has been rescuing and re-homing animals, as well as making grants to other humane organizations, since the mid-1980's.

We currently dedicate our resources to securing equal treatment and opportunity for "pit bull" dogs. Whether the dog is called a "pit bull" because of a documented pedigree, or merely on the basis of physical appearance, recognizing that these dogs are individuals for whom we are responsible is an integral step toward a compassionate future for all dogs.
