Spreading Sunshine Animal Rescue does not have a formal shelter, sanctuary, nor any type of building or structure. SSAR is one of many small, foster-based rescues trying to do its part to help as many innocent animals as possible. Although we are animal lovers in general, we believe that we must specialize in a particular species in order to be the most successful in helping them. We always help “the underdog,” but in the case of animal rescue, we believe it is “the undercat” who needs our help the most as there are lots of dog lovers but also many cat haters. Every single person we educate about the cat & dog overpopulation crisis is dumbfounded to learn that for every human born, there are also 15 dogs born & 45 cats born so there simply are not enough good adoptive homes nor foster homes.
When we started all this life-saving volunteer work approximately 15-18 years ago, we had no idea that we would still be rescuing and fostering multiple rescue babies into our mid-50s and 60s. SSAR always need good fosters and animal lovers to join our humanitarian cause, so please text us at 463-203-8292 if you are interested in helping the innocent cats in the Jackson metro area. Although most of our fosters work full time jobs in addition to helping us save kitty lives, we do our best to respond to adoption inquiries within 48 hours when possible as we definitely want to find good furever homes for our rescue cats and kittens.
