Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Marceline🐾
Miss Marceline came to us as a pregnant stray, likely having spent most—if not all—of her life fending for herself outdoors. Because of that, she’s understandably shy and under socialized but thanks to the patience of a dedicated foster home, she’s slowly learning that people can be kind.
Marceline is not the kind of cat who will immediately seek out attention or affection—but she is making progress. She’s beginning to explore her surroundings with more confidence and is becoming more comfortable simply being in the presence of people. With time, patience, and a calm environment, we believe she will continue to blossom.
Marceline is also FIV+, which means her immune system is slightly compromised, but she can still live a long, healthy, and happy life with regular veterinary care and a low-stress indoor environment. FIV+ cats can live safely with other cats as long as everyone gets along.
She is looking for an adult-only home that can offer her the space and understanding she needs to settle in at her own pace. Marceline may do best in a home that already has a confident, social cat—a feline friend who can model trust and help her feel safe.
If you have a quiet home, a gentle heart, and experience (or patience) with shy cats, Marceline could be your next meaningful rescue story.
Marceline is in a foster home! If you are interested in adopting, please complete an Adopter Profile form at www.parl.org/adopt and email aacevedovelez@parl.org to meet her!

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adopter profile through our website. We then encourage you to visit PARL at 34 Elbow Street and get to know the animals we have available. You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.
When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.
If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, please come see us again! Chances are that we will have some new furry friends available for adoption, and one of them might be purr-fect for you!
