Tawny is a lovely DSH brown with orange tabby female born approximately 11/16/2023.
Meet Tawny!
My life on the streets has come to an end and I have had my last litter of babies. All thanks to a good Samaritan! I had 6 babies on April 7th when it was still cold outside. She took me and my family indoors and cared for us for two weeks before reaching out to NBCR for help. We all went to our foster home where we have been able to stay together.
After a couple of weeks of getting settled in, my foster mom noticed that I wasn’t really feeling well and took me in for a checkup. Turned out I was running a high fever while nursing my six babies. After receiving lots of TLC and being on antibiotics for a week, my true personality is now shining through!
I follow my foster mom everywhere, as I enjoy being around people. Of course, I will depend on my new family to be patient with me as I continue to slowly get used to not being on the street. My appetite is coming back. I do beg for people food (although I don’t always get it...) I got a little spoiled as I was getting Cheetos for treats when I took my medicine. So now, every time I hear a bag open, I think I will get some! I am understanding if I don’t always get them though.
I am super friendly, very laid back, and am enjoying all the perks that come with my new wait staff. With time and the security of living on the inside, I have become more playful and enjoy attention. I am in a foster home with a lot of other cats. I don’t fight with them, but I am cautious and do keep my eyes on them to protect my babies.
My babies are all ready to find homes of their own, so it's time for me to think about my future. I would love to be in a forever home as a companion and member of the family, and know what it is like to never be on the streets again. I have not been around dogs or children, but with time and proper introductions, I am pretty sure I would like that. I am especially bonded with my daughter, Mina, and we would love to be adopted together, if possible.
