My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Cooper—an 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This dashing gentleman is fully vetted, so he’s already polished in all the right ways. Cooper isn’t just looking for a home—he’s searching for the perfect match who understands his quirks and will let him shine as the star of the household.

Cooper knows what he likes—and what he doesn’t—and he isn’t afraid to be a little persnickety about it. He thrives in a calm, quiet environment where routines are steady and predictable. Because he can be particular about his space and interactions, Cooper will need to be the only dog in the home and would do best in a household without children. This way, he can truly relax and feel secure in his surroundings.

Despite his preferences, Cooper has so much love to give. Once he trusts you, he enjoys companionship, quiet time, and the comfort of knowing he’s safe. He’s the kind of dog who appreciates gentle attention, cozy naps, and a home that respects his boundaries while still providing affection and care.

At 8 years old, Cooper is past the busy puppy stage and is ready for a lifestyle that matches his calm nature. He’s fully vetted—so he’s more than ready to begin his new chapter with someone who understands his needs.

✨ Cooper is looking for a special person who will appreciate him for who he is: a loyal, independent companion with a heart ready to bond deeply once he finds his place. If you can offer Cooper the quiet, loving home he deserves, apply to adopt today and give this sweet boy his perfect forever home.

More about this shelter

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals. We do not receive public or government funding, and no monies from national humane organizations or county, state or federal government funds. Our work depends solely on grants, fundraisers, adoptions, private funding, memberships and donations. The fees collected from the adoption of each animal help to offset some of the costs involved in providing care for the animals and preparing an animal for placement into a new home. We value every animal equally and consider all to be priceless
