Brookie has been overlooked for far too long and we have no idea why she is still waiting for her forever home. Below is a little “Adopting List”— it’s like a grocery shopping list but instead of groceries on it there are qualities that many adopters say they’re looking for in a dog. Let’s see if Brookie checks all the boxes and belongs in your cart:
Adopting List:
• Perfect age: Check
Brookie is 4 years old, past the puppy chaos, but still young enough for plenty of adventures.
• Sweetheart with a gentle soul: Check
She’s a little shy and nervous with new faces but warms up quickly. Once she trusts you, she’ll roll over for belly rubs and melt into head scratches.
• People and dog friendly: Check
Brookie makes you feel like the most important human in the world with her world-class nuzzles. She enjoys short play sessions with doggie pals, followed by chill time. (Cats? Not her thing.)
• Easy to entertain: Check
She’s happy with walks (harness preferred she can pull at times), backyard squirrel patrols, indoor food puzzles, or solo play with yak chews or stuffed Kongs.
• Fun, quirky personality: Check
She may be deaf in one ear (left) and has a charming 3-second “load time” before responding to commands. Her adorably delayed reactions will make you smile. She’s not into playing with toys, but loves chewable.
• Well-mannered indoors: Check
Fully housebroken and crate trained. No accidents even when her foster parents are gone for 8 hours and she doesn’t chew things she shouldn’t.
• Easy to handle: Check
She allows gentle handling all over, even allows the removal of things from her mouth, tolerates nail trims, and lives for bath time and post-bath brushing.
• Treat-motivated and trainable: Check
Eager to please, and always ready to learn, especially if snacks are involved.
Brookie is truly an exceptional companion that has been overlooked and waiting for her happily ever after far too long. Guaranteed to make you laugh, feel loved, and remind you daily why rescue dogs are the best “purchase” ever. Will you add Brookie to your adoption cart and give her the happy ending she deserves?

We started out fighting for our baby boy, Lucci, who was killed due to Airport Animal Emergi-Center Clinic's breed prejudice. When he was killed, we make a promise that no bully would be left behind. Now we try to save as many bullies as we can!
