My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!**

Name: Roscoe

Breed: Pit Bull Mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/estimated DOB 04/2024/ 35 lbs

Vetting: Up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventatives

House Trained/Crate Trained: House Trained with minimal accidents. Crate trained – can be crate aggressive towards other dogs.

Dogs/Cats/Children: Dogs – dog selective – we can arrange a meet and greet with your pup to see how they might get along/ Cats – unsure – can be tested upon request/Great with people and older kids – Roscoe is high hnergy, and would probably be too much for younger children.

Energy Level: High energy- Roscoe loves to nap and snuggle, but he needs to be entertained when he’s feeling playful.

Before FAR/My History: Was a stray picked up by Clayton County Animal Control in August 2024 – malnourished/kennel cough/pneumonia – He is healthy now and ready to find his Furever Home!

Training Status/Commands I Know: Walks well on a leash with “leash pressure” corrections.

Working On: Sit/Place/Off/Down and general manners.

Things I Like: Food! I am very food motivated and will do anything for a snack. Play and moving! Roscoe would be the perfect companion for a hike or daily walk. He loves to chase a ball or toy as well! Puzzle Toys! If there is food inside, he will chase/tap/play/figure out how to get it out! He loves using his brain to figure out how to get the food!

Things that make my humans happy: Roscoe is so silly and funny. He makes us laugh every day. He loves to cuddle and loves pets. He will make a perfect companion for the right family!

Ideal Family/Home: Roscoe’s ideal family would be a family that is active and loves to play! Roscoe would be an ideal companion for hikes or daily walks. He loves to chase a ball or toy. He also loves stuffed toys, well at least until his foster mom or dad has to take them away - destroying them is the best part!!

If you are interested in giving Roscoe a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you choose not to adopt, we will contact the next approved applicant. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the potential adopter filling out an adoption application. In the application, you can specify a particular dog in which you are interested, or let us know what type of pet in which you are looking, so we can find the perfect animal to fit your family and your needs. Once the application is received, a board member will review the application, and make contact with the potential adopter within 48 hours. This initial contact may include further questions/more information, or may include scheduling a meet and greet for you to meet the animal in which you are interested! Once the application is approved or the meet and greet goes well, then the adoption can be finalized. To finalize the adoption, an adoption agreement must be completed, the adoption fee paid (we accept cash, paypal, or credit/debit card), and then the potential adopter can take their new family member home with them or schedule pick up of their furry family member! The adoption fee varies based on the animal. Some of our animals have the fees listed in their individual post but if you do not see one then please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to let you know the cost to adopt a particular pet. If you are interested in any of our animals, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!!

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events some Saturdays at various locations around middle GA from 11 am-3 pm. Check our Facebook page for updates on Events! We are also able to arrange meet and greets for local adopters!

More about this rescue

Furever After Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a no-kill, foster-based rescue devoted to finding homes for animals needing a loving home. Most of our animals come from local, high-kill shelters with some occasionally coming from bad situations and owner surrender. Our animals are immediately placed in foster homes where they learn love and are taught how to live in a home environment. All of our animals are up-to-date on their age-appropriate vetting needs and are tested for personality traits as best as possible. We have many wonderful pets looking for forever homes!

We are currently based out of Macon, GA but partner with a quality private transport group that helps us get our furbabies to homes up and down the east coast so don't let distance deter you from contacting us about one of our furry friends!
