Good with dogs? These sweet besties may interact with a smaller, gentle dog or coexist with a larger dog who gives them space. They are living with large dogs in their foster home and keep their distance. They would need a slow introduction to any dogs.
Good with cats? Yes, they are super friendly with other cats, absolutely adore kitty friends, and understand boundaries well. They used to live in a cat colony. Silver would love another playmate to wrestle, and Blackie would love another friend to cuddle and groom!
Good with kids? Not Tested, but these gentle boys may do well with respectful kids 10+ who understand how to interact with cats, or else they may retreat from interaction.
Energy level: Medium, and becoming increasingly playful and happy! They will play and wrestle each other and enjoy feather toys, kickers with catnip, cardboard scratchers and wand toys. These chill, snuggly boys like to watch out the window and cuddle.
Medical needs: Blackie is fully recovered from surgery to save his leg after hip dislocation and is loving his new, pain-free life. Silver has a grade II-III heart murmur that has not caused any issues so far. Silver is FIV+. FIV is a feline-only retrovirus that affects a cat’s immune system. He is currently asymptomatic and in good health. An adopter should be aware that FIV can make a cat more vulnerable to other medical issues because their immune system is not as strong as an FIV negative cat. FIV is not transferable to humans or dogs and can only be transferred to other cats through a deep cat bite, which hasn’t been a concern with these two, given how gentle and sweet they are to each other and other kitties.
Animal Characteristics: Blackie and Silver are sweet, friendly, handsome, silly bonded brothers who love each other very much and will bring their adopter twice the joy! These loving brothers have supported each other through surgical recovery and are now feeling wonderful together! They will warm up, become outgoing, affectionate and loyal to their trusted people after taking a little time to adjust. Blackie chirps away, begging for attention and thanking you with an outpouring of affection. He loves to curl up and snuggle in your lap! If he is ever nervous, his devoted, more confident brother Silver will comfort him with his deep and admirable love. Silver is an outgoing attention hog who adores people. He will hold your arm with his soft paws and play nuzzle and nibble. Both kitties are very gentle, gorgeous, and ready to relax in their cozy fur-ever home!
