Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bruno! This under-2-year-old, 48-lb mixed breed boy is the definition of calm, soulful charm. He may come out of his kennel with a little excitement and some leash tugging, but once he’s outside, that melts away and he settles into an easy, enjoyable walking pace. Bruno loves taking in the world around him—sniffing, observing, and soaking up every sight and sound with curiosity and delight.
He’s a pro at car rides, hopping right in and settling quietly for the journey. Out and about, he shows wonderful manners and a friendly, gentle disposition. Bruno greets people with his signature “dog smile” and loves every bit of affection he’s offered. He handles new environments with ease, including busy public spaces, and stays calm and well-mannered wherever he goes.
Bruno is full of adorable facial expressions and already knows “sit.” He’s treat motivated, takes snacks gently, and remains quiet—no barking, growling, or whining. He can occasionally be mouthy or grab at the leash when he’s excited, but he redirects easily, and we believe these behaviors will continue to improve in a home with routine and structure.
He would likely enjoy a fenced yard where he can run his heart out before settling in for leisurely walks and cozy downtime. With his gentle nature, steady temperament, and affectionate personality, Bruno is ready to become a loyal companion to a very lucky adopter.
Bruno used to greet dogs with a loose, wiggly body when he first came to the shelter, but his shelter stress seems to be making him more dog selective. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.
To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
