Lokie is a sweet, sensitive soul who's searching for a calm, loving forever home where he can continue to blossom. At 2.5 years old, this 37-pound Border Collie mix is the perfect blend of brains, beauty, and heart.

Housebroken and crate trained, Lokie already knows basic commands like sit, down, stay, and come. He’s also working on his leash manners and making great progress! Lokie has a medium energy level, he enjoys playtime and walks but then is ready to relax at home by your side.

Lokie is still in the process of decompressing, but is incredibly affectionate with his people and thrives when he feels safe and loved. He’s shy and timid with new faces at first, but once you’ve earned his trust, he’ll be your most loyal shadow, always looking to you for reassurance and leadership.

Because Lokie is still learning to trust the world around him, he needs to be the only pet in the home. He gets along well with patient adults and older children who understand his gentle, sometimes timid nature. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but it’s not required.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
