***This Mastiff is part of our 'Fall in Love' adoption event and her adoption fee is waived!

Meet Peaches! This sweet girl was found as a stray in rural AR. She arrived at her finders's house pregnant and had a litter of puppies. They were never able to locate an owner for her and she had no collar or microchip. Unfortunately she was not spayed by the finders and 6 months later had another litter of puppies. Thankfully they were able to bring Peaches to us once this litter was weaned and so no more puppies for her! (Those puppies went to a local rescue for placement). We can only guess how many litters she's had but we know it's at least 2. Peaches is dog friendly and good with kids. She is small for a Mastiff so possibly she is mixed with something else. Although if Mastiffs have puppies on their first cycle, it can definitely stunt their growth and then tend to be smaller in size. She's only about 65 lbs.

Peaches was spayed recently and unfortunately when they tested her for heartworms, it came up positive. She has received injections to treat those and about ready to be adopted! Peaches has been an absolute joy in her foster home, and very well behaved. She
has been on quite the journey, and this sweet girl is almost at the finish line of her heartworm treatment! Soon, she’ll be ready to pack up her street-smart charm and move right into the home of her forever family.

Her foster family lovingly calls her their “scrappy charmer” – because not only did Peaches learn how to survive life on the streets, she’s mastered the art of wiggling her way right into your heart. Peaches is an all-ages sweetheart who has done wonderfully with kids from 5 to 15. She’s also a dog-friendly gal who loves canine company. Her favorite hobbies include cuddles, playtime, and making friends wherever she goes.

Now, full honesty: Peaches is a squirrel enthusiast (okay, she’s obsessed) and has a high prey drive, so a cat-free home is definitely best for this adventurer. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate pup with a big personality and even bigger heart, Peaches might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to turn the page on her past and write her happily-ever-after with you!

More about this rescue

Welcome to the Great Plains Mastiff Rescue Foundation Website! Great Plains Mastiff Rescue is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization made up of volunteers dedicated to saving Mastiffs in need. Our goal is to find a forever home and family for every mastiff that we rescue. We health check each mastiff that comes into our rescue program. This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, testing for worms and parasites and treatment, heartworm testing and treatment, and microchipping. Mission Statement: This Foundation aims to further the prevention of cruelty to animals with emphasis on the recovery of pets from life termination procedures and the ultimate adoption of such animals by the private sector, as well as education on how to prevent the overpopulation and unnecessary killing of animals.
