Gracie is a 4.5-year-old spayed female Shepherd mix with a beautiful black and tan coat, stunning golden-orange eyes, and the sweetest smile. She’s a gentle, affectionate girl who truly shines when she’s with her people.
Gracie enjoys the company of other dogs and would love a canine friend, though she can be quite excited when first meeting new doggy pals—so a meet and greet is required to make sure everyone is comfortable. She is not recommended for a home with cats or small animals.
This lovely girl does great walking on a leash and is comfortable wearing a harness. She already knows her basic commands and enjoys the simple pleasures in life, like being brushed and spending time with her family. Gracie is wonderful with respectful children and would be happy in a home where she can be included and loved.
One thing to know about Gracie is that storms and thunder can be scary for her, so she’ll do best with a patient, understanding family who can help her feel safe during noisy weather.
Gracie is a sweet, loving soul who is ready to find a forever family to call her own. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a beautiful smile, Gracie may be the perfect fit. Come meet her and let her steal your heart.

More about this shelter
The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.
Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.
Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
