Breed: Domestic Shorthair, Tabby
Estimated Birthdate: 04/01/2025
Adoption Fee: RWAR is running a $25 adoption fee special on all cats 6 months and older through midnight 01/31/2026!
Aiden is a PLAYFUL, adventurous little guy with a surprising athletic streak—but beneath all that energy, he has a sweetness that makes him extra endearing! He loves toys and can turn just about anything into a game! He’s also incredibly observant, often sitting back to watch the world (and other kitties) with quiet curiosity! While he’ll happily join in on the fun, Aiden is just as content being a relaxed, easygoing kitty who enjoys his own peaceful moments!
Additionally, sweet Aiden is cat-friendly and kid-friendly, and is truly BUILT to be a family cat. Aiden doesn’t just tolerate kids—he adores them. He genuinely believes he’s one of the kids, always right in the middle of the action and soaking up every bit of love. In his foster home, Aiden has been part of moments that look like they were pulled straight from a childhood scrapbook—just take a look at the photos in his profile.
He’s the kind of cat children grow up with and remember forever.
The cat who’s there for after-school cuddles…
The cat who curls up beside them during movie nights…
The cat who somehow ends up in every photo and every memory.
Aiden is that once-in-a-childhood companion—gentle, playful, and full of heart. Whoever adopts him isn’t just bringing home a cat; they’re giving their children a best friend and a core memory that will last a lifetime.

This cat is currently in a foster home in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. We cannot hold our cats for any reason. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within three days of applying.
Adoption Fee Includes:
Spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccines, SNAP test, dewormer, flea/tick prevention, and general wellness care.
Please note: Foster-to-adopt homes must be within 30 miles of Lemont and use one of our partnered vets. We do not adopt out of state until the cat is fully vetted.

More about this rescue
MISSION
Our mission is to be a voice and a home for dogs and cats who do not have one. To provide love, care, and shelter for those who have never had it or have lost it. We believe all animals are deserving. We will rescue, protect, vet, and provide hope as we search for loving forever homes for all animals that come into our care.
PURPOSE
Ruby Whiskers Animal Rescue, based in Lemont, IL, is dedicated to rescuing, vetting, and rehoming animals from shelters and other abandoned situations. Operated by dedicated volunteers and supported by foster families and sponsors, our goal is to provide the necessary veterinary care, grooming, and love while finding them forever homes.
GOALS
Successfully rescue and rehome dogs and cats from kill shelters and other abandoned situations.
Spay/neuter all animals that come into our care.
Grow a foster and volunteer network.
Support and educate the community of the importance of spay and neuter.
Keep pets with their families by providing assistance with pet food, training, vetting, or any other pet related issue, in order to keep them together and out of the shelter.
Educate adults and children to build awareness, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of spay and neuter for all animals.
Advocate for stronger laws regarding animal welfare, cruelty, and puppy mills/pet stores.
Help decrease the homeless/abandoned animal population to in turn reduce euthanasia rates at shelters and animal control organizations.
PHILOSOPHY
Successful RWAR adoptions depend on strong relationships with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, and trainers. Through these relationships we will be able to rescue hundreds of animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care and carefully-matched forever homes.
SUPPORT
Best Friend’s Animal Society NO-KILL 2025 Goal
Reaching no-kill by 2025 means that every shelter in our country is getting the community support it needs to save every dog and cat who can be saved. *When a shelter is saving at least 90% of dogs and cats entering that shelter, it is designated as no-kill.*
