My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hola!!

My name is Queso. Isn't that a cool name!! Makes you hungry don't it?

I had a rough start in life. You see, I was dumped with my sister along the highway. Left to fend for our little puppy selves. It was just awful!! we were scared, hungry, thirsty and hot.

At one point, I guess I got too close to the road and hit....boy did that hurt!

Some nice lady picked us up and called Lucies. Thank God they had room for us!!

They took us to the vet to get all checked out. My sister was fine, but I wasn't. I had a broken leg and a cracked pelvis. Surgery was out of the question because it was too expensive. Luckily, a foster mom stepped up and took me in and helped with my recovery.

About a month later, I went back to the vet and lo and behold a miracle happened!! I was healed!! Tender loving care and Divine intervention healed me!!

I am now cleared to be a puppy and do puppy things! I'm super cute and very adventurous. I need a family who has the stamina to play with me and keep me occupied. I sure hope that family is yours!!!

Additional adoption info

Interested adopters contact our adoption volunteer either via email or phone. Our volunteer in turn talks to them more about the pet they are interested in. If the adopter seems like a good match, they are requested to complete an application. They come to the rescue location to meet the dog of interest. We also sometimes arrange a home visit to make sure the environment is suitable for the dog. If all is well, they will get a call from a volunteer letting them know they are approved for adoption. They will be provided copies of the vaccination and sterilization records. A delivery day will be arranged for the dog. Either the adopter may come and pick up the dog, or a volunteer can arrange to have the dog delivered. They sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. We do periodically contact our adopters to check up on the dog to make sure everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying their new life!

More about this shelter

Local Unity for Canines In Emergency Situations. We are a dog rescue organization, not a shelter or a pound!

We are a group of neighbors who, as a community effort, are helping the many strays and dumped dogs in the area. We take them in, care for them, feed - vaccinate - worm - socialize, and try to find them forever homes. We do depend on donations to help out, and will accept food, medication, bedding, fostering, and direct donations to Veterinarians.
