Meet Kernel (aka Max), your soon-to-be best buddy!
Hi there! My name is Kernel, but my foster mom affectionately calls me Max—and I kind of like it. I might come off a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and you'll find me curled up in your lap, handing out kisses like it’s my full-time job.
I get along great with the other pups in my foster home (they're all around 35 lbs. and under), and I’ve even had some fun with the neighbor kids! Cats? I haven’t met any yet, so the jury’s still out. I walk nicely on a leash—though sometimes I get a little excited and try to lead the way. A secure yard where I can zoom and sniff would be ideal, and I’d love a doggy sibling to hang out with while you’re out.
Snuggle time is very high on my list of favorite things, so don’t be surprised if I sneak into your arms for a cuddle session.
I’m potty trained, and while the doggie door is still a bit of a mystery to me, I’m getting the hang of it with practice!
Life’s giving me a fresh start, and I’m ready to soak it all in—especially if it involves adventures, soft blankets, and someone to love. Bonus: my ears are ridiculously cute.
Come meet me—I have a feeling we’re meant to be! Please email ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to schedule a meet & greet.

At Valley Dogs we make every effort to place the right animal in the right home. To aid in this goal, we use trained Adoption Consultants to help you select the best match for your lifestyle. You will meet with an Adoption Consultant and discuss your lifestyle, activity level, expectations, likes/dislikes, and past experiences with animals. Your consultant will then recommend the best match for your family and your lifestyle.

We do not own a kennel / shelter type facility. In most cases, we believe one of the effective and successful ways to match families and pets is to foster them in our own homes. Fostering dogs allows us to help train the dogs to have good doggie manners and allows us to learn about the dog's personality and character. Ultimately allowing us to give potential adopters complete information on the pet's behavior and how well he / she will fit with a family and lifestyle. Unfortunately, when we are not able to find the most appropriate foster home, we will on occasion utilize a private kennel on a case by case basis.
