My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willow and her sister Olive were friendly strays living outside an apartment complex in Corona. Their feeder reached out to us after tragedy struck—Willow’s litter did not survive, and she had stepped in to help raise Olive’s babies. Sadly, Olive herself had endured severe trauma, surviving a coyote attack that left her with large puncture wounds. To make matters worse, their previous litters had also been taken by coyotes. Despite everything they’ve been through, these two sisters remained deeply bonded and relied on each other for comfort and survival.

Now safe in our care, Willow and Olive are ready for a fresh start. They are cautious at first and slow to warm up, but with time, patience, and gentle encouragement, you’ll get to see them blossom into the loving cats they truly are. Because of their history, they will be adopted together and would do best in a quiet, child-free home with an adopter who understands their need for security and trust.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is designed with the pet and the family in mind. We look to make the process as easy and efficient as possible for our adopters, while also preserving the key safeguards that ensure we place our kitties with loving homes they can be sure to stay with forever. Sometimes we may ask for a virtual home visit via video or FaceTime to gain more insight into what kind of kitty will best fit your lifestyle and environment.

Go meet their pets

Paws in the Sand Cat Rescue is a foster based rescue, so all of our adoptable cats reside with their foster families who are located across Orange and LA counties. We have a kitty for every family and locale, so we will work to match you with a feline friend who matches both your lifestyle, needs and location.

We have adoption events at Pets Supplies Plus in Long Beach on Bellflower Blvd in between Lazy Acres Market and Sports Basement. Those events will be announced via our social media.

More about this rescue

Paws in the Sand Cat Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of cats in Southern California. Our mission is to rescue cats from high-kill shelters, and rehome abandoned cats, giving them a second chance at life. In addition to rescue and rehoming, we are passionately committed to supporting community cats through Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) services. This humane approach reduces the number of unwanted kittens and promotes healthier cat colonies. By partnering with local shelters, veterinarians and our local community, we aim to create a safer environment for all cats. At Paws in the Sand, we believe every cat deserves a chance. Our work is driven by compassion, dedication, and a commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of our cat communities.
