Hi there! My name is Mocha, and I'm an 8-year-old Cockapoo with a heart as warm as my name. I was surrendered by my previous owner who could no longer care for me, and now I’m looking for a forever home where I can be loved and doted on like I deserve.
Everyone who meets me says I’m the sweetest girl. I get along just fine with other dogs and am as gentle as can be. I’m also blind – I have glaucoma in one eye and no vision in the other – but don’t worry, I adapt quickly! Once I learn the layout of your home, I’ll be following you around like the little velcro dog I am.
I’ve also had some recurring ear infections, but my friends at RescueConnect are helping get that under control. I’ll need a compassionate home that can keep up with my eye drops and vet visits, but in return, I’ll give you unconditional love and endless cuddles.
Because of my vision, I’d do best in a home without many stairs and with a secure fenced yard so I don’t get lost. I would also probably prefer a home that is more on the quiet side. Most of all, I’m looking for a calm, caring family who will let me be their loyal little shadow.

Once the adoption application is received, a home visit will be set up. If that goes well and is approved, then a vet check is completed (if the applicant has recently owned an animal, if not, two professional references will be required). Once both of those are approved, then the adoption fee will need to be paid.

Most pets are in foster homes in Wilmington NC and can be met by appointment. Most of our adoptable cats are in homes in Hampstead NC and can be met by appointment.

RescueConnect also encourages and educates individuals to keep their animals up to date on vaccinations, on heartworm preventative (for canines) and encourages spaying/neutering.
