Meet Kodi — proof that age is just a number. At 12 years old and just 6.5 pounds, Kodi is the kind of loyal, low-maintenance companion dreams are made of. He’s house-trained (even in the rain!), sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, and quickly mastered the doggie door like the smart little guy he is. Kodi loves nothing more than being near you—happily curled up at your side or trotting along on a walk, just glad to be included. He is gentle, calm, and full of life, with so much love left to give. He eats only canned food due to his lack of teeth and his age. Kodi didn’t deserve to be surrendered to a shelter by his owner but now he’s ready to be someone’s whole world. Maybe yours?
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.
All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Also, EARS has Meet and Greet Days at various local venues in the Dallas area. We will post the dates and times of the Meet and Greet Days on this website. Meet and Greet Days are an opportunity for you to meet some of our animals. Unfortunately, not all of our animals make it to every Meet and Greet Day so please contact us at adoptions@earstexas.orgto check if your four-legged friend of choice will be available to meet you. (We do not do any onsite adoptions.)

Education and Animal Rescue Society is an all volunteer, non-profit Texas corporation whose mission is to educate the public about issues concerning animal behavior and proper care for pets including an emphasis on vaccinations, spay and neutering, and nutrition. Further, EARS is committed to finding homes for unwanted animals that would otherwise perish in shelters. EARS keeps all of its animals in homes with volunteer foster families where the animals are loved and treated like a part of the family until the right permanent home is found.
