My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ruby ❤️

All of Ruby’s puppies have found their forever homes—now it’s her turn!

Ruby is fully potty trained and crate trained and has excellent doggy manners. She’s a loyal, loving girl who enjoys running and playing with other dogs, but she also knows how to slow down and cuddle up on the couch.

She has the perfect balance of playful energy and gentle affection, making her a wonderful companion. Ruby has lived in a home and truly thrives in a calm, loving environment. She would be happiest as a lap dog with someone who enjoys both playtime and quiet snuggles.

Ruby is ready to be someone’s best girl. 💕

Why Adopt from Lifeline of Galveston County?
Texas faces one of the most severe pet overpopulation crises in the country. Thousands of healthy, adoptable animals enter overcrowded municipal shelters every year with limited resources and few outcomes.
Lifeline of Galveston County is a nonprofit, foster-based rescue founded to change that reality. We focus on:
Saving at-risk cats and dogs from overcrowded shelters
Supporting neonatal kittens and medical cases
Providing community resources that keep pets out of shelters
Advocating for humane, lifesaving solutions across our region
The pet you’re viewing is incredibly lucky to be safe in our program, and even luckier that you found them.
Setting You & Your New Companion Up for Success
We are committed to long-term success for both adopters and animals. When you adopt from Lifeline, you also receive:
Ongoing support from our team
Access to our adopter community and resources
Guidance on decompression, slow introductions, and adjustment
Rescue pets often need time, sometimes weeks or months, to fully settle in and show their true personalities. We look for adopters who understand that patience, structure, and love make all the difference.
Our Impact
Since opening our adoption center, Lifeline of Galveston County has helped over 1,800 pets find loving homes, and we’re just getting started. When you adopt from Lifeline, you don’t just save one life, you make room for the next animal who desperately needs help.
Together, we create second chances.

More about this rescue

Our goal is to eliminate the euthanasia of companion animals in Galveston County by promoting and providing resources, education, and programs to transform animal welfare in our communities.

What makes us different is we were created to not just help animals, but people too. We realize that animals and people are very much interconnected, and a big part of our organization is outreach.
