My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Steve Harris: The Cat Who Sat in the Window and Waited! Steve was born around January 2023.

Status: Survivor. Sweetheart. Secret softie.

Looking for: A quiet hero with a warm window and a warmer heart.

Once upon a not-so-fairytale time, Steve was just a shadow on the streets — a quiet little cat with a face that had seen more than it ever should. When he was found, he bore the scars of a life no one had protected him from. His injuries were significant, especially around his face, and it wasn`t just his body that needed healing — it was his spirit. So Steve did what many broken hearts do: he hid.

He sat in a window. All day. Every day. Watching, waiting, barely existing. He didn`t ask for anything. He didn`t expect anything. He just... faded into the background, as if life might forget to notice him again. But something incredible happened.
Love noticed

And Steve - gentle, beautiful, resilient Steve — came back.

Little by little, he found his way out of that quiet sadness. Now, when you enter the room, he lifts his head and meows. Not loud, not demanding — just a quiet, hopeful `Hey. I`m here. Are you?`
He jumps down from his favorite windowsill to greet you. He asks for head rubs. He leans in. He`s still simple in his needs- he doesn`t need much. But after everything, he`s ready to believe that he deserves something. Steve is vetted and has excellent litter box manners.

Who is Steve now?

A low-maintenance king who just wants a patch of sun and a person to care.

Friendly with cats and small dogs — he`s lived the foster life and played well with others.

Great with older kids — he`s gentle, quiet, and patient.

Totally chill — think `retired yoga instructor in a cat`s body.`

Steve is FIV+ (sensitive immune system) and that means he needs to be inside only. Other cats are perfectly safe around him, FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds. Steve is a lover, not a fighter!

Steve may have scars, but they are only on the surface. His heart? Pure velvet. If you`re looking for a cat who won`t knock everything off your shelves but will quietly steal your heart, this is your guy. He`s not flashy. He`s not dramatic. He`s not asking for much. He just wants someone who sees him — truly sees him — and doesn`t look away. A window. A hand to rub his head. A promise not to leave. Can you be that promise?
