My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bentley is a friendly Staffordshire Terrier mix, born May 2017. Bentley is a social butterfly who loves to be close to his favorite people… long walks, lazy days, whatever you’ve got - he’ll take it! Bentley needs to be the only canine in the home, and he loves to run around chasing things smaller than himself... birds, rabbits, squirrels… all things back yard. Bentley worked on command i.e. "leave it” and “stay”.  Bentley is a smart fella, fast-learner, and a people pleaser.  He loves being around his family!

Bentley is kennel trained, but is okay free roaming in the home while everyone is away at work & school. He is completely house-trained, well-mannered, and enjoys getting some of his steps in while no one's around!  When the family reconvenes in the evening, Bentley is ready for some outdoor playtime.  Being a curious guy, he needs a fenced backyard to stay safe and close.

Bentley is super excited to find a furever family with the energy and patience that he needs to feel comfortable and confident… and if you have a basket full of tough toys, that wouldn’t be so bad either!

The suggested adoption donation for Bentley is $265 which includes microchip registration.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.

Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.

Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.

More about this rescue

Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed in 2014 by a small group of devoted animal lovers, in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area, with many years of rescue experience wanting to make a difference in the lives of dogs. Our rescue focuses on small breed dogs, less than 35 pounds, of any age. It is all volunteer based, and all of our rescue dogs are living in the homes of our volunteers.
Our rescue is unique in that we offer supportive services, such as education and training, to owners considering relinquishing their pet in an effort to try to keep the dog in their home whenever possible. We also educate and offer placement assistance to owners attempting to rehome their pets through social media sites, which can often be risky for the pets as well as the owners.
