My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boots showed up on a farm in rural Arkansas when she was around 8 weeks old. For a year, that’s where she lived, and she was doing great until she wasn’t. She started chasing the horses, so for Boots’ safety, her previous owner decided to find another home for her.

When we visited Boots on the farm for the first time, she was friendly but a little shy. We learned quickly that Boots is incredibly loyal to her person as she was attached to the farm owner at the hip. She would come up to us for pets, but she preferred the human that had raised her for a year.

She had never been on a leash, so we kinda just followed her around to capture these photos. We love watching dogs in their natural habitat - the best photos come from them being themselves!

We have since moved Boots to a foster home to learn more about her. She was scared at first, but warmed up so quickly. She is in the midst of crate training, leash training, and potty training. The only time she has gone to the bathroom inside for the week she has been in this new home was once when her foster mom had to work a longer shift. She’s even doing well on a leash already!

We are still learning whether Boots is good with cats and children. She was around two other dogs on the farm, but we are going to try her with more dogs to make sure she is indeed dog friendly.

We believe Boots would do best in a variety of homes as long as her family is active and likes to be outside. I can see Boots being a great hiking companion for an active, single person in need of a best friend!

Boots is HW Negative, UTD on shots and prevention, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $250.

If you would like to donate towards Boots’ transport fee, Venmo @adventurexadopt! Donations go towards vetting our dogs and getting them to their new homes!!
