My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Princess! Princess came to TCR when her dedicated colony caretakers reached out for help - she and several of her friends were at risk of being harmed due to neighbors who didn't want them around outside. Like her name indicates, Princess can be a bit of a... well... *diva*.

Because she grew up outdoors, it took Princess a long time to begin trusting us. She is still a bit wary of humans and can often be found lingering JUST out of reach, but she is one of the first cats out to dance around for food at mealtimes and will typically stay close. If you corner her in her favorite cubby, she might even allow (and maaaaybe even enjoy?) a pet or two.

Princess does great with the other colony cats in the foster room, and she would thrive best being adopted with a colony-mate, or into a home with another chill cat she can commiserate with. She'd likely prefer not to be adopted to a home with young kiddos, but older, cat-savvy kids who are patient and don't expect too much interaction from her off the bat might be OK. She will need to start off in one small room at first, and she will need time to acclimate to her new people and home. She has not yet met a dog in foster.

Princess is estimated to be about three years old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Are you interested in a shy but special kitty? Please apply today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
