I am a big lover boy. I love receiving attention and pets, and I will seek it out! I can be a bit more reserved, but once I am comfortable you will see my goofy and loving personality. I enjoy being perched up high and watching my surroundings. I enjoy nice long naps, after my small spurts of energy. I am a big boy, so you can already guess I am a big fan of treats! I love belly rubs, neck scratches, and booty scratches. I'm growing more and more with confidence every day. I am a big softy and super sweet. As you can see I am older, I am looking for a quiet and slow-paced household.
I would do best in a home as an only cat but will tolerate another cat who just wants to coexist. I may adapt to a cat friendly dog with a slow and proper introduction. I would do best with older children in the home who respect my boundaries. I do not enjoy being picked up but will tolerate for a short period of times.
I am a sweet and easy-going boy, just looking for my forever home!

Our application is available on our website, HSSCM.ORG

Approve Application

Processing takes 3-5 business days. We are currently not scheduling any visits without an approved application.

3.
Meet the Pet

After approval, we will schedule you/your household to visit + meet the pet of interest.

4.
Take the Pet Home

At the end of your visit, we would be able to complete adoption papers + you will take your new companion home!

Additional adoption info

All adoptions begin with an application on our main website, HSSCM.ORG.
Once your application is competed and submitted, processing generally takes 3 business days- pending our schedule and the number of applications ahead of yours. Once processed we will contact you and, if approved, will set up an appointment for an adoption counsel. If you are looking to adopt a dog and have a current dog in the home, we will require a match-up before finalizing any adoption.

About Us:
We are the area's nonprofit advocate, sanctuary and source for companion animals since 1887.

Our Mission:
-to protect animals from suffering and cruelty
-to provide safe and responsible care for unwanted or abused companion animals
-to enhance the lives of animals and people through education, adoption, and foster care.

We believe in second chances at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Our service area includes all of Calhoun County and parts of Kalamazoo, Barry and Branch counties. We keep animals as long as it takes to find a good home for adoption once the animal passes temperament testing and is checked for good health. The Watkins Road shelter cares for up to 100 animals a day, and adopts out more than 500 animals a year. Countless area residents use the Society’s animal care, adoption and education programs each year. The Humane Society is overseen by a board of directors. We do not receive any government or tax dollars, or national humane organization funding. Our services are made possible by people in our community who care about homeless cats and dogs - people like you!
