My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
I'm Angelo, a sweet 11 year old gentleman looking for a special someone to share my days with. I consider myself low-maintenance and take pride in my image. My wardrobe is often compared to Men's Style Pro, thanks to my penguin-like coat.
I prioritize my well-being and channel my energy into my corrugated scratch board. I'm a bit on the shy side, but don't let that fool you-once I feel a connection, I'll strut over to your feet and give you a chirp of approval. I love being pampered with Temptations and Delectable treats, served straight from your hand.
When I'm not busy fending off the neighborhood ladies sneaking past my window, I retreat to my cozy cardboard villa to recharge. It's my personal hideaway, but don't worry-I'll come to you when I'm ready.
Secure your cabinets! I consider myself an explorer at heart and enjoy uncovering closed spaces. I'm currently employed as a personal towel warmer, though I must admit, I'm often caught napping on the job.
I'm searching for someone who will patiently help me blossom and build my confidence. Could you be the purrfect Hooman to earn my trust and fill my heart with joy? I'll reward you with a lifetime of love and companionship.

A volunteer writes: It's unlikely that, at 11 years old, Angelo pictured himself here. With years of creativity and love behind him, he has only more ahead but since Angelo takes a little while to warm up to new people, shelter life hasn't been the easiest transition. While Angelo has spent an inordinate amount of time in his den as of late, he's made lots of progress. We also know that he's a playful and imaginative guy with a bright and playful spirit. We've heard that Angelo loves to play with toilet paper and is particularly captivated by scratching posts. Anyway, though Angelo's said to be one who generally prefers to watch from afar, he likes to be around the action, except when it comes to Care Center action. Angelo made many efforts to make himself invisible when he was brought here and he still seems to be on a mission to do just that. That's not what we want for him though and we don't think it's what he really wants for himself. He's begun popping his head out for cuddles and will eat treats right from my hand.
