Oscar was born on January 22, 2024, and I have had him since he was a kitten. He is curious, energetic, and always on the move. He tends to play rough and doesn’t always know when to stop, often biting or scratching in a way that feels playful but can be constant. He gets overstimulated easily and struggles to fully relax, though he can cuddle for short periods on his own terms.
Oscar has had a hard time adjusting to a multi-pet household. He becomes anxious and reactive, often hissing or swatting when he is fearful or overwhelmed. He is also very cautious around strangers and takes time to feel comfortable with new people.
In October 2024, Oscar had surgery after a sacroiliac luxation and pelvic fracture. He underwent a left femoral head ostectomy and has physically recovered well, but the experience was stressful and likely contributed to his ongoing sensitivity to his environment.
