Basil is officially coming out—as a shepherd mix, and as the sweet, goofy pup he was always meant to be! At about 8–10 months old, this handsome boy has big, soulful eyes and a pair of magically adorable ears that popped up out of nowhere. He’s snuggly, playful, and would happily curl up in your lap—if he didn’t occasionally forget how big his paws are! 💛
Since arriving at DTR, Basil has blossomed. His personality shines through in everything he does. He loves toys, adores romping around with his dog friends, and is always ready for either a game or a good cuddle session.
Basil is still working on his crate training and housebreaking, and he’ll need a family committed to continuing that progress along with his socialization. With consistency and patience, he’ll grow into a confident, happy adult dog.
Because Basil is still learning to trust, he would do best in a home without small children. They make him a little too uncomfortable (don’t worry Basil we get it). 🐶💙

There is an adoption application and contract required. Landlord references are checked for any restrictions for potential adopters who rent, as are vet references.
Resident animals should be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations, unless there is a medical reason.
A dog meet with be required with any resident dogs to ensure it is a good match and all children ages 12 and under should also come meet the potential new dog.
