Meet Ryder – our old man hound who served a short sentence in the Hamilton Hounds Prison Program. 🐾🚓
Fortunately for him, Ryder got an early release. Why? Because he quickly discovered there are no couches in prison. And for Ryder, a life without couches just isn’t worth living. So back to foster he went… straight to his beloved couch. 🛋✨
Ryder is the definition of low-maintenance. His adoption requirements? One thing, and one thing only: a couch. He loves to hang out on it, nap on it, dream on it, and if he could, he’d probably marry one. His daily routine is simple: eat, sleep on the couch, eat again, repeat.
This sweet senior is dog-friendly, cat-friendly, potty-trained, and crate-trained. He’s currently living in a foster home with 4 dogs and 6 cats and gets along with everyone. Ryder may be older, but that just means he’s perfected the art of chilling.
Seniors need a place to land too—and Ryder’s only request is that his forever home comes with a comfy couch. 💛

The HSVLC is a non-profit organization that only rescues animals based on available foster homes and funding. All of our dogs and some of our cats live in foster homes. Loving families have taken them in and are caring for them until they find their furrever home. We also house many of our cats at our office location. We have four cage free rooms dedicated to housing our resident cats. You can stop by our office during business hours to visit our residents or contact us in advance to schedule a visit with one of our fosters.
