We have a 13-year-old Husky/Labrador mix named Brody. He’s been with us since we adopted him as a rescue in Texas, and he’s been our loyal companion ever since. He’s moved across states with us and grown up alongside our three young children — always patient, gentle, and full of love.
Over the past year, Brody’s care has become increasingly difficult. He suffers from significant anxiety and now requires sedation for basic grooming and veterinary appointments. We’ve tried to accommodate this for as long as we could, but his needs have surpassed what we can realistically manage with our young family and work responsibilities.
This decision has not come lightly. Brody is still a sweet and loving dog, but his daily care has become overwhelming, and we’re deeply worried we can no longer give him the calm, attentive environment he deserves. Our greatest hope is to find a setting where he can live out his remaining time with peace, dignity, and gentle support.
