My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sally is a female white with red/tan Chihuahua mix maybe with red heeler. Estimated DOB mid-February and she weighs 19 lbs (as of 6/19/25). She and her 2 littermates and mom Daisy were owner surrendered to spare them from living outside in an unfenced yard.

In their foster home, Sally and her siblings have proven to be very social with people and other dogs. The other dogs in the home are older and Sally is very loving with them, kissing and playing nicely. She loves water and playing in a tiny kiddie pool. Sally is smart. She has done well with potty training. Sally sleeps in a kennel and loves her kennel voluntarily using it for nap time too. Sally has learned about gardening and loves her veggies. She is working on learning the leash.

Mom Daisy is a good dog with an even temperament, well behaved and loving. Her puppies have the potential to be the same. She is a chihuahua mixed with something a tad larger and weighs in close to 20 lbs. Dad(s) unknown.

Sally’s adoption fee is $150. She has had 3 sets of vaccinations, two rounds of deworming and has started heartworm prevention. Adopter will complete the appropriate vaccinations and continue heartworm prevention. Sally will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract, signed by the adopter requiring the adopter to have her spayed before six months of age at the adopter’s expense. We make no guarantees about breed or size.

A completed adoption application and, upon approval, an adoption contract is required. Jeff Tarpley Rescue welcomes applications from homeowners, renters, and condo or apartment dwellers. At a minimum, a phone interview will be conducted and a vet reference checked before the applicant may meet their preferred pet.

We adopt primarily in the 4 states of the ArkLaTexOma. Applicants willing to travel to Texarkana will also be considered with additional requirements to qualify as approved.
