My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello!

.

Chiffon is a 1½-year-old miracle cat with a very interesting past! She was rescued from a bodega when someone noticed she had an injured leg. One of our volunteers took her to the vet and nursed her back to health, but then the bodega owners insisted that they wanted the cat back. She sadly returned the cat, knowing that the store often left their door open—sure enough, within two weeks, Chiffon was missing. We posted signs all over Washington Heights asking that she be returned. After lots of waiting, Animal Care Center let us know that a cat microchipped to us had been dropped off at their shelter. It was Chiffon! She must’ve had some crazy adventures, but she's not telling.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Please come and visit our adoptables on Saturdays between 2:00 and 6:00pm at the Petco at 92nd Street and Broadway in Manhattan.

If you are interested in adopting, simply:
1. Fill out a pre-adoption form.
2. Let us help you choose the perfect cat or cats that are right for you.
3. Schedule a home visit to make sure your home is "kiity-proof" (safe and secure for cats).

We ask for a $125 adoption donation to help us cover the cost of vaccinating, neutering, and testing each cat for FIV and FeLV. We're strong advocates of the buddy system, and require that kittens under ten-months-old be adopted in pairs unless there is already a young animal in the home to serve as a playmate.

We have cats of all ages, shapes, sizes, and colors. The one thing they all need is a permanent, loving home. Nothing warms a home like a cat or two. Please come and meet our furry friends!

Go meet their pets

Every Saturday find us at the PETCO on the corner of 92nd and Broadway from 2pm to 6pm, and you'll be able to meet and greet all of our wonderful adoptables then. We mostly have cats up for adoption but occasionally we do have dogs as well. So please come and join us!
