My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Curley! I am the sweet and shy boy with the curled ears. My face tells a story—a difficult story. I am one of 40 kitties from a local hoarding house. After our owner passed away, the shelter was contacted to see if they could help us. You may not think I'm classically handsome like other kitties—and that's OK. The kind people at the shelter tell me I am handsome and beautiful all the time. I know I'm worth it—and I know the right people out there will think so, too. I am becoming more confident, and as I get comfortable with people as they spend time with me, I look for their attention. I am a mellow ginger tabby with a wise soul and a love for life’s simple pleasures, like window gazing, soft neck scratches, and lounging like a sunlit loaf. I'm calm, affectionate, and always happy to keep you company during your quiet moments.

I was originally taken in because a neighbor was shooting us with a bow and arrow. I also have a bullet in my hind leg and have a previous fracture in my pelvis. I didn’t deserve this—no animal does. I currently take amlodipine (a blood pressure medicine, like humans might also take) in a scoop of food for blood pressure, and I'm also on a low dose of gabapentin for some pain management. I have a bit of a difficult time walking. One of the other kitties in the room picks on me a little bit, causing me to retreat often in a hidey hut.

I need a quiet home with humans that will give me time to get comfortable in a new environment. Do you have room in your heart and home for a kitty who is so deserving of love and care? Come and meet me … You’ll love me!

I’m looking for a long-term foster or forever home. I would love to go home with one of my friends! They have been through it with me, and I have spent so much of my life with them.

Included in our adoption fee, all of our kitties are vaccinated, FELV / FIV tested, dewormed, microchipped, spayed / neutered, and checked out by a veterinarian.
