My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there my name is Jane and as you can see I am gorgeous! I was taken in by Stray Cat Blues from a not so good situation with a lot of other kitties in January. I have been with my current foster mama in Towamencin since right before Easter and I just turned 1 at the end of August. She says I have blossomed beautifully and am ready to start looking for my forever home! I LOVE to be pet by my foster mama now but was not open to being touched in the beginning and threatened with hisses and skippity paps from my paws. My foster mama gave me scritches with a back scratcher and I really liked that so I decided to stop giving skippity paps and let her give me scritches with her hands and man do I LOVE to be pet now! I use the litter box all the time, walk around the house confidently now instead of hiding all the time, I climb the cat shelves on the walls, and I really enjoy spending time with my cat foster siblings. I have 2 dog foster siblings too that I don't mind being near now but if they try to play with me I give them a skippity pap. My foster mama says I will need a very patient adult only home that is quiet and has a couple other friendly confident cats that I can continue to learn from and play with. I will probably regress a bit too when I’m adopted and threaten my new hooman with skippaty paps so they’ll need to start slow with a back scratcher and I might need my own cat condo crate in my new home at first like I did in my current foster home. Since I am a very shy girl I might need to meet my forever hooman a few times before going to my forever home and I will take time to blossom in my forever home just like I did here in my foster home but I'm worth it. If you think you might have the purrfect home for me apply today!

Additional adoption info

During review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease.

We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption.

Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative.

All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted.

You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings). If you see a cat there that you like, you can complete an adoption application there in person.

Questions - email us at: contact@straycatblues.org. We are happy to answer general questions, and also put you in touch with the foster families for questions about specific cats.

Adoption Fees:
• $150 - Kittens up to one year of age
• $100 - For cats over one year and up to 7 years of age
• $70 - For cats 7 years of age and over.
All fees are subject to Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax and a minimum of $5 or 5% service fee.
Fees for cats with special needs will be determined based upon circumstances and may result in a fee reduction.
