** This is a courtesy listing for a bonded pair of bunnies **
Macchiato (3 year old spayed female) and Pierre (4 year old neutered male) are searching for a new furever home! There current owner has been struggling with this decision for months, but because of declining health circumstances, their current owner is finding it more and more difficult to give them the love and care they need.
Macchiato, "Macchi," was adopted in the spring of 2023 from Bunny Lu when she was a year old. Her previous family had an indoor dog that was not compatible with her. It is because of this, that we ask for them to go to a no dog household so she is not afraid. She is just so sweet and loves being pet. She is less of a snuggler but will come for pets on her terms then wander off to lay down or investigate whatever interests her at that moment. She will hop over to the x-pen side when you come by and raise up on her hind legs without leaning on anything and see if you are going to pet her or give her a treat. She loves both and will sit patiently enjoying the pets...for a brief period before hopping off. She is obsessed with her ball pit and loves going in it to scratch around through the balls and toss them around her. She has never had any health issues and would love a home where she can really let out her zoomies!!
Pierre was one of a hundred released into the farmland and made his way over a mile where he current owner caught him in the fall of 2021. They took him in and had him neutered and made him part of the family. He craves love and attention and will lay beside you calmly or on your lap for hours while you stroke his fur and rub his ears while he periodically licks you lovingly. Pierre will come to the side of the x-pen every time you walk by and put his front paws on the first rung to get pets every chance he can. He is not fond of being picked up, but will tolerate it and snuggle into your neck. Per the vet, he does not always process calcium as well as he should, possibly due to genetics, but is very healthy and absolutely no issues as long as he is not fed high calcium foods and is given a sprinkle of over-the-counter potassium on his daily food.
If you are interested in meeting Machi and Pierre, please reach out and we can help coordinate.

More about this rescue
Bunny Lu Adoptions, Inc. is a volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) domestic rabbit rescue and education organization located in Waynesboro, Virginia. We are dedicated to educating people about the joys of having a house rabbit(s) companion and promoting care that will give those companions the best chance at a happy, healthy, long life.
Bunny Lu also provides temporary foster care to abandoned and neglected rabbits and arranges adoptions into loving, indoor, forever homes. While we do not condone the surrendering of rabbits, we understand that providing assistance to those people trying to improve their rabbits' quality of life sometimes requires finding a new home for the rabbits.
