Carmela is full of life, love, and a whole lot of energy. She’s house trained, rides beautifully in the car, and is always ready for whatever adventure comes next—whether it’s a long walk, a backyard romp, or a trip to your favorite coffee spot. Her big personality shines brightest when she’s with her people, and she’ll gladly be your loyal shadow.

Carmela isn’t a good match for homes with cats or small dogs, but she may be open to a larger canine companion. If you’ve already got a dog at home, we’d love to set up a meet-and-greet to see if it’s a good fit. She’s ready to find her perfect match—someone who can keep up with her energy and love her big heart.

Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!

Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
