Here's what the humans have to say about me:
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
You can stop scrolling now. You've found the McDreamy of the dachshund world. The Furbio of dog Fabios. The most Suave of all the Ricos. Meet Alex.
Alex is a sweet, hunky 6 yr old male chocolate and tan long haired dachshund recently released from a commercial breeder. He's not just an average long hair dachshund. No, he has chest hair that would make Burt Reynolds jealous. He's so handsome with his long flowing locks that people have mistaken him for Jason Momoa. (OK, we don't know that for certain, but it's definitely possible.) We do know for a fact that Alex is a 14 lb bundle of pure love and fluff.
Alex can be a bit shy when he meets new people. (He did come from a commercial breeder.) It takes a little patience and time to get him to warm up to you. But once he does, he's the sweetest boy that loves to snuggle and loves to have that gorgeous fur brushed.
Alex is finding his personality, discovering toys and exploring the backyard. He will need a securely fenced yard as he has tried to get out the front door and go for a jog. He will need to have a safe place to explore, plus he enjoys just hanging outside.
Alex gets along well with his dachshund foster siblings and does not seem to be bothered by the feral visiting cat. Alex would enjoy having a similar sized playmate who is not very bossy. So a chill canine companion is a must.
Alex is working hard on his potty training. He is doing better at pottying outside, but sometimes has accidents when he gets nervous. He's a private guy that prefers to relieve himself without an audience, so he does best when you let him "do his thing." He sleeps well in a kennel all night and does fine when left alone for a few hours. He's also starting to learn how to walk on a leash.
Don't miss out on this dreamboat! Alex really is a great catch! Apply to adopt Alex today at https://www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
The suggested adoption donation for Alex is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
