Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Is your cat looking for a cat of their own? Do you appreciate a survivor who needs a little bit of extra TLC? Sweet, shy Manchego is waiting for you and your cat!
Manchego is a one year old gorgeous tabby boy with the softest coat that you'll have the honor of petting once his trust has been established (and it's worth it). He was born in a house with a cat population crisis and so didn't get the full attention he deserved as a kitten by his first person. He was rescued after being found outside that house for multiple days in a row in the dead of winter. His sweet face peering from his makeshift shelter - a wet cardboard box - was all we needed to see to scoop him up.
Since coming inside, Manchego has loved being in a home that is calm, food is routinely served, and where he has cat friends. We know that he will only continue to bloom when he is in a similar home with a friend (or two or more) to show him the ropes of human affection.
Manchego's human has one or more cats that are open to having a new pal energetic, affectionate pal in their pack, and who is excited to bond with Manchego as they work through his continued socialization - a process we will happily support you through!
If you and your cat(s) are looking to open your home to sweet survivor even just temporarily, Manchego is your guy!

Our cats are almost all in foster homes. Upon approval of your application (including reference check), we will connect you with the foster parent(s) so that you can meet the kitty you're interested in. If it's a good fit, we'll do a home check for safety issues, and then process the paperwork so that you can officially adopt your new family member!

More about this rescue
We are a network of rescuers in Central Brooklyn (primarily in Bed Stuy, Ocean Hill, and Crown Heights) who help each other out. We do both TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) as well as the rescue and adoption of friendly cats and kittens that we find on the streets. We don't have a physical facility, so our cats are usually in foster homes, or staying with us in our own homes. Our goal is to find loving, permanent homes for all the cats we take off the street, and to make better lives for the ones we return there.
