Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Johann is a sweet, energetic, and sensitive lover boy.
He is a five year old pit heeler mix. He loves being active, going on hikes and walks, and playing fetch, even if he doesn't always bring the ball back. But he is also incredibly content with cuddling up next to his human and having mellow days.
Johann loves meeting new dogs and making friends of all sizes and breeds, but typically does better when not leashed. Johann has lived with other dogs, and is always quick to befriend them. He has lived with cats, but tends to get overly excited so he would be best with dog-savvy cats. Johann does well around kids, but may be better suited to older kids as he is a very strong lil' guy and is robust in his affections.
Johann is a velcro pup, anywhere his human goes he follows and any task that needs to be done, he is there to "help" and or supervise. He is very affectionate, especially with his kisses and he loves a good belly rub. He loves to cuddle up and sleep with his human but is also good with sleeping on the couch.
His boo-boo tail and unique coat make him a show-stopper, gaining him much love and attention when in public, which he gladly obliges!
He does well on car rides, after getting over his initial excitement.
Johann is house trained, and will sit by the door to let you know if he needs to go out. He is also crate-trained, which we affectionately refer to as his "home", and will willingly kennel up with the command "go home". Johann knows how to "shake", with both paws, and will gladly give you a double high five with the command "up high". He knows "sit", "stay/wait", and "lay down",
Of course a treat never hurts, but he is a great listener regardless!
He is a sensitive boy, and can be easily startled/scared by loud noises, and certain motions/movements. He will vehemently defend you from the vacuum.
Johann can become easily overwhelmed in new settings/places but when with his trusted human's reassurance he levels out quickly. In Johann’s perfect world he would have a stay at home human.
