My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Delilah! She’s a serene and gentle husky mix, around 2 years old and approximately 54 lbs, who radiates calm from the moment you meet her. Delilah has the most soulful eyes and a personality that whispers peace. We believe that Delilah is a husky mix of some sort, around 2 years old, and weighs approximately 54 pounds! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed.

In the house and outdoors, Delilah is delightfully quiet and unobtrusive. She entertains herself with toys, especially if they squeak, and her tail wags at the sound, but without bouncing off the walls. She delights in special snacks like cow ears and Greek yogurt, eating them slowly and politely. Her steady, unhurried energy makes her the ideal companion for families seeking a mellow couch buddy or a peaceful indoor presence. She would be the perfect work from home buddy, quietly lying at your feet until you need a break.

Dog and cat friendly, she thrives in tranquil environments and prefers laid-back companionship over high-energy play. She’s not one for roughhousing; instead, she loves quiet, cozy moments and playing softly with her favorite squeaky toys, occasionally indulging in gentle, slow-moving play. Delilah has even lived with fifteen cats at once and handled every interaction with feline finesse. She is currently fostered with 3 female dogs, and while she happily watches them run around, she isn’t a playful initiator. She has met so many different types of dogs, all with varying personalities and sizes. She has been around shy dogs, dogs that are rude and pushy, dogs that rough housing around her, and dogs that are calm like her and she does great. If another dog is too rowdy, she'll gently assert a boundary and then settle into her relaxed zone. She’d fit beautifully with another calm companion or simply shine as the only spoiled sweetheart in her forever home.

Delilah gives off the laid back chill, hangout type of vibes. So when she is around dogs that are all about play and have a more rowdy play style, she will give a very subtle "hey, I'm not the playful type" kind of boundary correction to those dogs and she goes on about her business. She doesn't mind if dogs are playing around her having a good time, she is just the type that isn't interested in playing. If you have a playful dog in your home and you're looking for a playmate for them, Delilah is not your girl. But if you have a dog that is chill, likes to hang out and just enjoys the company of other dogs, then Delilah will fit right in! Delilah has no problem being the only dog in your life either and being the center of your world. She does not need the company of another dog to help her feel comfortable and open up nor does she need another dog to fulfill her energy needs. Overall, she is more on the calmer side and would be perfectly fine being your one and only! We consider Delilah to be very cat friendly and would do well in a home with a dog savvy cat that doesnt mind the presence of a canine!

Delilah definitely needs a home lifestyle over an apartment living space. She thrives in a yard with a fence and lush grass for her to stretch out and sunbathe in! She is the perfect companion for someone just looking to have a friend to spend chill days with as the world passes by. No need for constant activities, although she does look forward to her nightly walk around the neighborhood with her 3 foster doggie siblings. She's also been on a few hikes through the woods, although in this Texas heat, she wasn't a fan. She is definitely looking forward to a place that isn't 100 degrees year round LOL.

Delilah hasnt been around young children but lives with teenagers at her foster home! They love to give her pets as they pass by her on the way to living their busy lives! We believe that she would do well with older children that understand the needs of a quiet cutie like Delilah!

Delilah is ready to bloom in a loving, laid-back home where her quiet sweetness and toy-loving joy can be appreciated every day. Does Delilah sound like your match? Apply today!

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
