Does your dog need a dog? Because Brisket might just be the perfect match.
At just 2 years old, this beautiful white-coated pup is still figuring out the human side of the world. She’s not quite ready for hands-on affection yet—but she loves being near her people, quietly sharing space and soaking up the safety of a calm home. She’s gentle and never aggressive; if you reach for her too quickly, she’ll just bounce away like a deer and then circle back once things feel safe again.
Where she truly shines is with other dogs. She LOVES to wrestle, play, and be social with her canine friends, and would thrive in a home with a confident, playful dog who can show her the ropes. Having a dog buddy helps her feel secure and brings out her happiest, silliest self.
She also has an adorable little habit of gently “borrowing” random items. Maybe not ideal, but undeniably endearing. When she’s not playing, she likes to curl up in her den with a soft bed and the soothing sound of K-pop resonating through the house.
This sweet girl is looking for a patient, understanding home that will let her blossom on her own timeline. With kindness, consistency, and a dog friend by her side, she has so much potential to grow into a truly special companion.
If you believe love doesn’t have to be loud to be real—and if your dog could use a best friend—Brisket might be the one for you.

More about this shelter
Gulf Coast Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter that houses hundreds of adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens.
We were founded on January 15th, 1945 by a group of animal lovers with Frances Weil leading the cause. In April of 1998, we began operating out of our current facility which was donated to us by Tom and Cora Keeler.
Since our beginning, we have been dedicated to providing the best care possible to the animals under our roof. Our mission is to find loving, responsible forever homes for all of the orphaned animals at GCHS.
All of our adoptable animals are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, de-wormed, and free of parasites such as fleas and ticks.
Upon adoption, new pet parents are sent home with their new dog's first 6 months of heartworm prevention, a starter bag of food, and a voucher for a free wellness exam at participating veterinarians.
Cats are sent home with a starter bag of food and a wellness exam voucher. A temporary transportation box is also provided.
If you fall in love with a heartworm positive dog, we provide treatment at no extra cost to you.
