Meet Gherkin – a 13‑pound dill‑ightful little dude who’s ready to relish life with you!
At about 8 years old, Gherkin is the perfect mix of sweet and silly. He’s "mostly" housetrained (occasional accident), crate‑trained (though he’ll tell you his opinions about that at first), and absolutely insists on having a dog buddy around – no solo gigs for this guy. Gherkin is a professional snuggler, loves to burrow under the covers at bedtime, and is happiest as your personal shadow.
He’s currently being treated for heartworm but that won’t stop him from being adopted into his forever home. He loves laps, loves people of all ages, and just wants to be part of the action.
If you’ve got another friendly pup and an open spot on your couch (and in your bed), Gherkin is ready to fill it! Apply at www.northstarpets.org and don’t forget to mention his name – he’s kind of a big dill.

The first step is to submit an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org. Volunteers will process your application. Please be patient!
Home Check
In a very very small number of situations, a home check may be needed if we have any questions or concerns after processing the application.
Meet the Pet
A meet and greet will be arranged for approved applicants with you and your entire family including your current pets.
