Augusta is a training graduate who has mastered several commands. She heels nicely on a leash alongside her person and is crate-trained, happily settling into her cozy retreat when asked. She thrives on consistency and enjoys focusing on her handler, making her an excellent partner for someone who can guide her using basic commands.
Her love for people shines in her desire for snuggles and companionship. She is incredibly smart and can quickly pick up on cues, especially when treats are involved! She has made great strides in training and has the capacity to learn even more. When she was first found, Augusta was unsure of the world and often stepped into the role of protector, which sometimes made her defensive. In one instance, when she felt uncertain, she reacted by nipping a neighbor on the ankle. However, with time, structure, and trust, her behavior has transformed.
