Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Returned to original owner 7/8/2025**
Bandit is a cute 1-1/2 year old male Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on June 26, 2025 after he was picked up on Pontius Road in the Lower Salem Ohio by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden. Bandit was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.
Bandit had been on an adventure in the Lower Salem area with his beautiful Red Heeler companion (Chili). Chili was apprehended on June 25th but Bandit decided he would continue the adventure 'solo' .. And he was apprehended by the Dog Warden the following day and brought to the HSOV on June 26th.
Bandit has a stunning red/mahogany short smooth coat with a small patch of white on his chest a long tail, and an adorable (rather mischievous-looking) face with beautiful brown eyes, sparkling white teeth, a black button nose, a slender muzzle, and short floppy/horizontal ears.
This little man has the nicest smile. Bandit was content to continue his afternoon siesta on the cool concrete pad under his tarp-covered 'cabana'. The temperatures that day were 95 degrees in the shade, which was much too hot for our usual outdoor photos in the green grassy area in front of our shelter (which is in the direct sunshine). So we've been using "Plan B" to keep the dogs safe (and our volunteers and paparazzi).
Bandit is a small boy who weighs 21 lbs.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Law, Bandit will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.
If you have any information about Bandit (or know who his family might be), please contact the HSOV by calling (740) 373-5959.
