What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We originally adopted her from the Hawaiian Humane Society, where she was a stray for the first 6 months of her life. Despite this, she is a very sweet girl, and has a wouldn’t hurt a fly kind of temperament. She’s very food motivated, and seeks approval/validation from her people and so is a fast learner and very trainable. Shes great with all kids that she’s met. Even when the kids are running around throwing things, she’s unbothered. She does great at the dog park, and is pretty good on a leash. She’s not reactive to bikes or skateboards or anything like that, so bringing her to parks and beaches is fun.
She does have a habit of resource guarding towards other dogs, especially regarding food. She also tends to tinkle when nervous or excited.
We think she would do best in a home with a back yard where she can run around, and a patient owner who can make her feel safe, comfortable and take the time to bond with her.
